Our Early Years Practitioners are responsible for providing a high standard of learning, development and care for our children, which is steeped in the knowledge of attachment theory and early brain development. Supported by our Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager, our team will nurture environments that are emotionally and physically safe.
Role of the Early Years Practitioner:
- To ensure our environments are safe, nurturing and engaging both indoors and outdoors
- To meet with our families at drop off and pick up times
- Provide a high level of awareness to transition periods and be responsive to the emotional needs of our children and families during this time
- Plan stimulating and engaging activities for our children to thrive
- Prepare lunch and snacks
- Undertake risk assessments
- Complete daily paperwork, including but not limited to, risk assessments, registers and room temperatures
- Complete observations for our children and update our learning log system
- Be involved in supporting new children to settle into our nursery environment
- Complete home visits as and when appropriate
- Liaise closely with our families, informing them of activities and exchanging information about progress

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Hold a minimum HNC/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare
- A current PVG and SSSC registration
- Have knowledge of GIRFEC, Pre-Birth to Three and Child Development and be able to give examples of use in practice
